A Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected within the warning area in less than 24 hours in this case.

At 11pm the centre of Tropical Storm Isaac was located near latitude 15.3 degrees north and longitude 58.0 degrees west or about 220 miles east of Dominica. Isaac is moving west at 20 mph (31 km/h). Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 50mph or 85km/h with higher gusts. Tropical storm force winds extend out to 175 miles (280km) from the centre.

Isaac has weakened over the past several hours and is expected to continue doing so. However, it is still likely to carry tropical storm force winds (39 to 73mph) across the Lesser Antilles tomorrow. On the current forecast track, the centre of Isaac is expected to pass over the northern part of Dominica or between Dominica and Guadeloupe by tomorrow afternoon. Strongest winds are expected to the north of the centre.

A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for Dominica at 11pm. Residents are advised to keep informed on the progress of this system and to remain vigilant. Preparations should by now be completed. A deterioration in weather conditions is expected across Dominica as the night progresses, increasing to pockets of moderate to heavy showers, thunderstorms and winds gusting to tropical storm force by tomorrow. Rough to very rough seas are expected up to Friday.

All users of the sea are advised to take all necessary precautions to protect life and property.

Current rainfall amount projected for Dominica is between 4 to 6 inches (100 to 150mm) with higher amounts in elevated areas.
