2014 Atlantic Hurricane Season

The Atlantic Hurricane Season officially runs from June 1 to November 30, annually. Note well that tropical systems have been known to form outside of these dates.

2014 predictions are normal to below normal due to El Nino and cool Sea Surface Temperatures (SSTs).

8 - 13 Named Storms
3 - 6 Hurricanes
1 - 2 Major Hurricanes (Category 3 or higher)

On average, 12 tropical storms, 6 hurricanes and 2 major hurricanes form.

Regardless of the seasonal outlook, it only takes one (1) system to cause devastation. Residents must be in a state of readiness at all times. Be prepared!
